After taking RunOut around the world, WakaStudio brought the game back to Bangkok for Thailand International Game Showcase 2025 and a weekend dedicated to Thailand’s growing games industry.
Sometimes the Best Stop Is Home
RunOut had already accumulated quite a few passport stamps by 2025.
But on August 23–24, the trip to our next event required considerably less jet lag.
WakaStudio joined Thailand International Game Showcase 2025, held at Paragon Hall in Bangkok.
The event gathered more than 40 Thai game developers alongside esports, universities, international speakers, board games, cosplay, and other parts of the gaming ecosystem. Cultural Promotion Department
For us, it was a chance to showcase RunOut in the same city where so much of the game had been built.
Playing With the People Around Us
International exhibitions give us a valuable look at how RunOut works across markets.
A home event offers something different.
Players may already know WakaStudio.
Developers may have crossed paths with the team before.
Friends from the local industry can walk over, play a round, and immediately offer feedback we did not ask for but probably needed.
That familiarity creates a different kind of atmosphere.
It also makes an event like TIGS important for the wider Thai development community.
When dozens of local studios share the same space, players can see that “games made in Thailand” does not describe one style or one genre.
There are many teams.
Many ideas.
And many different ways of making someone stare at a screen for several hours.
A Race Built in Bangkok
RunOut has always been designed around quick multiplayer fun.
You can explain the objective in seconds.
Actually winning is another issue.
Bringing the game to TIGS let us share that experience with a home audience while being part of a larger celebration of Thai game development.
We have taken RunOut to a lot of places.
But seeing people play it here in Bangkok still feels special.
No flight required.
Same amount of chaos.
PLAY LOCAL. RUN GLOBAL.
